jesse's art history

I went to college to be an architect, but was rejected. I transferred to a new college and decided I wanted to be a graphic designer, but hated the gross commercialism, so I switched to textiles. After a few months I dropped out, eventually ended up at Penland School where I studied weaving for a year (I owe my sense of detail to this period). Enrolled at WCU which was supposed to have a weaving program, but didn't, so I enrolled in ceramics.

That's where I learned everything I know up until taking Kevin Myers' class at OCC in Costa Mesa, California. The old pieces were made at WCU, the new pieces at OCC. I was more prolific at WCU, and more creative, in my opinion, but just didn't have a digital camera at the time. Photography's sortof another hobby and if you'd like to see photos I've taken, check out my Webshots albums. You can e-mail me at [email protected].
